Winter – skiing in Vrchlabi

Vrchlabi and the Giant Mountains offers in the Czech Republic excellent conditions for downhill and cross-country skiing as well as for showboarding. Visitors can visit several ski centres (Knezicky vrch, Herlikovice, Spindleruv Mlyn, Janske Lazne) which offer downhill courses of all degrees of difficulty and top-class skiing.

Vrchlabi is perfect for skiing thanks its location. You can change ski centres where goes a skibus. Some ski slopes with snowmaking enables good-class skiing during the whole winter. The Giant Mountains and Vrchlabi offers also well prepared cross-country routes for cross-country skiing lovers. There are several ski schools with longtime experience in downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding directly in Vrchlabi. Visitors of the Giant Mountains and Vrchlabi without skies can use ski rental service or take a trip without skies (for example to the top of Zaly mountain with a view-tower. Important sports competitions and events take place in winter centres in the surrounding each year (for example cross-country skiing and ski-jumping in Liberec).
